A Big Lime Green Thank You

Last Thursday evening I had the honour of hosting a very special event, as My Lime Boots. I planned the event not only to be a time of saying thank you, but also a time to share past blog achievements and future plans. The future certainly does look bright, in fact Lime Green bright I would say!

I was blessed with the use of the luxury cinema at Cine Centre Killarney. The perfect environment to celebrate My Lime Boots’ “life of style and a style to life”. A really big thank you to AB Moosa from Cine Centre for the use of the facility, as well as the popcorn and coke. A movie just isn’t a movie without popcorn and coke!

Invited guests and My Lime Boots audience members, who had won tickets to the evening, mingled while trying to complete a series of tasks. Many of the great brands I have come to work with on the blog over the last two years very generously donated products and services which were used as giveaways. Guests were tasked with challenges such as “guess the shoe size of My Lime Boots”, “Most dapper shot of a gent at the MLB Media Wall” and (a firm favourite) “shoot a quirky shot of yourself with one of the Abercrombie & Fitch Promoters”.

The challenges brought out the creative side of guests and made for many great submissions for the goodies to be given away. The main prize was a weekend getaway for two at the luxurious Fairlawns Boutique Hotel and Spa. Fairlawns is a unique, exclusive, up-market sanctuary expertly appointed for the discerning My Lime Boots reader. This well-kept secret, located in the heart of Sandton, maintains the perfect balance between tranquility and proximity to the vibrant business centres of Sandton, Woodmead, Sunninghill and Rivonia.

The My Lime Boots media wall welcomed guests as they arrived and thanks to Epson, each guest was able to have their media wall photo printed immediately using the Epson L850 printer. The printer uses Micro Piezo technology to produce consistent-quality prints, with many guests opting for more photo opportunities. Using postcard size prints for the evening, photos were ready in 12 seconds! And, thanks to Epson’s ultra low cost printing, we could have printed 1 800 postcards on the evening before the ink would have run dry! Did you get any #PrintsByEpson for your fridge?

A highlight of the evening was the two Abercrombie & Fitch fragrance promoters who shared the new First Instinct for him fragrance with guests. The promoters were well utilised by guests who were diligently working towards winning some of the amazing giveaways on the evening.

A big thank you to the other sponsors who made the evening so special. To Edgars for the gift vouchers, to Jimmy Choo Illicit for the ladies fragrances, Vaseline MENFace SPF15 who gave product for the goodie bags and ensured guests remained well groomed and to Elle and Elle Decoration for their latest issues also included in the goodie bags. Not forgetting everyone’s favourite, Cheese Curls, which were a nice surprise in the goodie bags and served as a reminder to guests of the great evening, even after it had ended – #SayCheeseCurls!

Over the next few posts I will be sharing the future plans for My Lime Boots. Finally a last big thank you to everyone who came out in support of My Lime Boots, without you I would not have the platform to speak into issues of lifestyle and fashion, that I am so passionate about. Can’t wait to create the next piece of content to share with you all!

Be sure to check my Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts today for posts of some of the shots from the media wall. Did you spot yourself there, I am sure I saw you in that rouges gallery?
