I’m Loving… Scuderia Ferrari Forte

For a while, I was somewhat sceptical of the vehicle brand’s delving into fragrance, I was never quite sure of the link and generally dismissed such entries to the market as irrelevant.

But then I actually tried one, and rather enjoyed it. I tried another brand too and found myself exposed to a whole new range of fragrances I had been missing out on. And then I tried Ferrari.

My dalliance started off innocently enough with Ferrari Red Power Ice, a great fragrance well suited to summer; and then it moved on to Ferrari Man In Red. I feel I have come full circle with Scuderia Ferrari Forte. Although I would initially have pegged it more for a summer fragrance, I am rather enjoying experiencing it during winter, here in Joburg. Having said that, our winters are rather mild and I see no reason to exclude the wearing of traditionally summer fragrances during winter.

The latest addition to the Ferrari family, Forte, is aimed at men who know what they want, who exude a sense of determination tempered only by passion and a tenacity to see things through. It’s no surprise then that this oriental woody interpretation from master perfumer Maurice Roucel, screams Italian from the moment you put it on.

You will initially note definite lemon and other citrusy elements in its top notes. This fruity start is enhanced by cinnamon, fresh plum and orange blossom in the heart notes. On dry down you have a bold, woody fragrance celebrating cedarwood, vanilla and patchouli. All in all a fragrance crafted for the strong-willed Italian types amongst us!

I’m in no way Italian, unless there are matters my mother has yet to discuss with me, but I love wearing this fragrance. Its woody notes with hints of citrus make for a refreshing fragrance perfect for days that I am wearing something that adds rather a spring to my step. We all have those outfits, ones that, when brought together as one look, elevate our sense of style into the heavenlies. And Scuderia Ferrari Forte is the perfect fragrance accessory for just such a day!

In the immortal words of Enzo Ferrari himself “Think as a winner and act as a winner. You’ll be quite likely to achieve your goal.”
